Inject what? Where?

One of the bunnies has a pretty bad case of mites. After much research it seemed that a sq injection of ivomec was needed. It's funny to buy something for a bunny that is actually made for a cattle. 

Both bunny and I survived. 

Now in 2 weeks I get 2 do it again. 

One month of growth vs two

Mr Benzo and Mrs Paxipam are about a month a part in growth. It's amazing to me the difference that one month can make. Benzo looks like a regular bunny with interesting colors- Paxipam looks like an angora. 

Don't buy rabbits without a pedigree

Attempting to start my own rabitry has been a learning process to say the least.  

Mrs restlin was advertised on Craigslist as a purebred "German angora" - I didn't know enough at the time to tell that she was not a German. She just looked like fur ball at the time-  I should have guessed given that the guy selling her didn't speak English and when I asked him about her parents he didn't know what I was referring to. 

Fast forward several months and it was clear she was not a regular angora. 

At 6 months old she is the same size as one of my 8 week does. I posted her pictures on raverly and the consensus was that she was some sort of lionhead mix. 

So the good news is I found a nice teenage girl looking for a house bunny. 

I just hope I am not going to damage the kid be the revolving rabbits in and out of the house. 

I am not the crazy bunny lady

My friends are starting to role their eyes at me..and are sure this is the crazy bunny starter package. I got another doe today. She is awesome.

This is the result from a REW bunny I traded. I am very happy with the result. 

Lessons learned...

So a couple of nights ago- I made the mistake of leaving door to bunny barn open. A dog got in. Long awful story short- Paxil is no longer with us. I am so sad- because he was a beautiful buck. The only good news is I only lost one.
